Lesson # 1. It can happen to your family
Cancer doesn't discriminate. It can happen to any family on any day. It can happen at any age. It will never be expected. You will never be prepared.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. During this month, we will share many lessons that our family has learned from childhood cancer. Lesson # 1. It can happen to your family I knew children that had cancer before my nephew was diagnosed. There was our friend Melissa, another girl from my home town named Jennifer, and my friend Tommy's sister Lizzie. I knew that cancer could touch a family. I knew that cancer could affect children. But I NEVER expected that a child in my family would be diagnosed with cancer.
Cancer doesn't discriminate. It can happen to any family on any day. It can happen at any age. It will never be expected. You will never be prepared.
