Why do I hate awareness months? I hate them because what happens during the rest of the year? Why do we need to be told that it's February, and this is when we learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Why do we wait until October to remind people about Breast Cancer? Do we think people that have lived though breast cancer forget?

Here we are, Aug 31st 2016... 5 years ago today Patrick had his first brain surgery. 5 years ago today, Aunt Jenny and Aunt Betsy sat at a car dealership when we found out that those tumors were malignant.
Just because I hate Awareness Months does not mean that I will not spend this month reminding people about the realities of Childhood Cancer. As these posts appear, please feel free to share them. Let's be sure to paint this world gold for all of the children and for all of the families.
